Search For Unclaimed Money You May Be Owed

Young woman looking at calculator on the computer benefits

The end of the year is a great time to search for unclaimed funds held by the government that might be owed to you. These funds could be money and property from states where you have lived, undelivered tax refunds, unpaid wages, or another source.

While there is not a central place to search for money that might be owed to you, here are a few tips to help you get started:

  1. Look for unclaimed money with your state’s unclaimed property office.
  2. Search for money from employers where you may have unpaid wages or pensions.
  3. Search the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) database for unclaimed insurance funds.
