Questions Job Interviews Can Ask About Disabilities

If you have a disability, you may think about what questions a job interviewer may ask about your health and work history. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, some questions are legal to ask while others are not.

Examples of information an interviewer can't request include:

  • What type of disability you have and how it affects you

  • Whether you would consent to a medical exam before employment
